If you have a new Digital Camera, but are not sure how to use it, then you are failing to take advantage of the best features, and therefore not getting the best possible shots. Learn the processes that will change the way you approach your photography, and start getting results right away. We spend part of the day sitting down and talking about the terminology of photography. We discuss the concepts of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, light metering, depth of field and focal points, see how those settings are applied in your own camera. We look at the benefits of choosing the RAW format as opposed to a JPEG format. And then we go out into the field and apply the new knowledge. You will never shoot on auto again! Once you have a better understanding of the functionality of your camera, you will need to know about downloading your files, storing your images, managing your work flow, using photo manipulation software to improve your shots, and how to set up your files for the best printing results. If you have already completed a One on One Photography Field Day, then you are now ready to take your knowledge a step further. If you already have a solid understanding of the basic concepts of Digital Photography, but are hungry to learn more, then this is your perfect day! We go into much more detail in key areas of photography such as landscape, macro and motion. We work on the correct ways to set up your camera and fine tune your technique in these wonderful and very different styles. And we look at the gear that you simply can't do without. It is for intermediate and above only!

If you would like to learn how to understand the techniques and practices of Digital Photography as part of a group, we spend a full day inside in a classroom situation. This is the perfect course for beginners, as we spend our day covering the very basics of Digital Photography in thorough detail. A comprehensive set of notes is provided to each participant to take away, and morning and afternoon tea plus a light lunch are all included. Group tuition is ideal for families, company employees, and groups of friends. It can also be used as a specialty day if a small group would like to spend a full day learning more advanced techniques of landscape or motion photography.

This half day course is perfect for those who are completely new to digital photography and wish to have an easy introduction to the basic concepts. It is ideal for those who are using either a Compact Digital camera, or an SLR, but are unfamiliar with all the functions. This course can be used as an introduction to Digital Photography, and can be followed at a later stage by doing the Full Day course, where we cover a lot more material in greater depth. It is also possible to do the Full Day course in 2 half day sessions if you are unable to get a whole day free. Please contact me to enrol.

This half day course is aimed at people who need to learn how to manage their digital images on the computer. We start at the very beginning, and assume no previous experience, so it is a perfect introductory course to get you going! You will learn how to download your images from the camera, how to sort and organise your images, and how to store them correctly. You will learn how to browse through your image collection, and to make basic editing decisions on selected images. This half day session is held in my studio, or I come to you with my portable computer! It is the perfect way to get going with your digital work flow! And of course you can do the Full Day Photoshop Course in 2 half day sessions if you are time poor!

Learn all you need to know to capture stunning images in low light. We practice the techniques required for low light photography in the beautiful location of Kirribilli, on the Sydney Harbour foreshore. As always, you can bring along a friend for half price.

Learn how to capture the magic colours of sunsets and sunrises, from around some of the beautiful locations on the northern beaches. And see how much beauty is around to be photographed in the twilight hour, both before the sun rises, and after the sun has gone down. This is a sure fire way to get some stunning images. As always, you can bring along a friend for half price.
